Welcome back Marie! This special girl joins us from Mexico. She was one of a group of dogs from a rescuer that had managed to only keep her safe from the streets but could not afford vetting and other care. She was diagnosed with TVT and has been out of the shelter for treatment - but has just returned ... and is healthy and ready for adoption! 

Marie was likely mistreated in the past, so she takes a little time to get comfortable with new people. But, when she does she is a loving, calm, and gentle dog. She is affectionate, but also independent and very happy to have a safe, warm bed. She does well on car rides and on leash and is crate trained as well. Marie was not tested with cats but she showed no interest when near a cat in a crate. She loves walks too and would do fine with another dog as long as that dog sibling is mellow and easy going as herself. We think Marie would make an amazing take-to-work dog, or a great companion for a retired person or really any calm home.  This special dog really deserves a special home, and we hope it is with you!
