Oso is little chiweenie (chihuahua dachshund mix) from Tijuana.  Oso means bear in Spanish but since he is so little, his foster mom has started calling him Osito. In his foster home, Oso has become very affectionate. He actually LOVES to give kisses and will paw you to let you know that he wants to be petted.    He is now crate trained and 99 percent housetrained in his foster home.  He has learned to enjoy leash walks. He really enjoys the dogs in the home as well as the very gentle dog experienced ten-year-old girl. He has happy to cuddle with all including the man in the foster family now that he trusts them.  It wasn’t always like this.  When he first came to foster, he was so terrified he was untouchable!

He has learned to love cuddling and will do so with you while you watch TV and when you sleep if you let him.

He and his buddy, Pepe, made one another too nervous because they were both so scared that they had a fight.  Oso enjoys getting his ears licked by his foster brother and snuggling with one of his foster sisters.

He is still shy with strangers and will even still duck down or tinkle a little when he is reached for from a standing position.
Oso needs a patient home where his person or people have had some experience with shy dogs or are willing to go slow.
He weighs very little and is super easy to carry around.  He is just fearful with strangers and would prefer to be touched by those he knows but he is opening up more and more.

He does adorable funny things with his paws to get our attention and seems sincerely grateful for love.

He also seems fine with cats.

Osito (AKA The Tiny Burrito) is praying for his miracle.  Is it you?

“In my efforts to help Oso learn to trust people, I have created a beggar, a really cute one.”
