***UPDATE 10/27/16

Pookie's cancer is back and he is undergoing Chemotherapy treatments. We know Pookie is a fighter and will beat his cancer once again! We are currently seeking a medical foster for Pookie who can take him to his weekly appointments. We also need help covering the cost of his medical treatments. Please email donate@ilovefamilydog.org if you'd like to help Pookie!

***UPDATE 9/1/16

Pookie's cancer is all gone and he is a happy and healthy boy! Pookie is about 5-7 years old and weighs 15 pounds. He is the perfect medium size for apartment living! Pookie has an adorable half brown, half black coat and is super soft. He turns heads everywhere he goes! Pookie loves people but isn't overly rambunctious. He has the perfect energy level- happy to relax on the couch but can also keep up on hikes or jogs. Pookie also does GREAT with other dogs and we have yet to see him have any issues living with other pups. Pookie should be able to live with cats and kids, too. Can you say perfect?

Overall, Pookie is just about the sweetest guy we have right now! Please submit an adoption application to meet him!

From Family Dog Rescue's founder and board chair, Angela Padilla---

"Pookie arrival last night. We learned that he has cancer after we agreed to take him off the street. I told him, "Don't worry Pookie I had cancer too." We take our dogs as we find them. Many others would have said, Oh he has cancer, we don't want him anymore. Here at Family Dog once we commit to a dog, we do everything possible to help that dog heal and find love. Extreme rescue. LOVE WINS."
